What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Boneo Discovery Park is a hit with families, especially those with young children, thanks to its engaging mini golf, fun mazes, and impressive dinosaur sculptures. While the park offers a lovely natural setting, some visitors note that many adventure attractions are seasonal and may not be available outside of school holidays, leading to potential disappointment and questions about value for money. The friendly staff and good cafe are consistently praised.
"A great family day out! We took 2 kids here (5&7) and they were entertained for hours. From ropes courses to rock climbing and even a few mazes. There's a range of activities from full on adventures to more relaxed / self guided games (which you don't often see). My favourite part was all the fun little games inside the cafe area to keep the kids entertained.
The staff and owner were all so lovely, stopping by to have a chat and help the kids where necessary.
A must visit!"

"Great day out, the crazy golf is well kept and the bungee trampoline was a great hit. Very peaceful and not too busy. Liz who works on the areal course/ trampolines was fab. Free arts and crafts which was brilliant. The cafe even did dairy free ice cream, so my son was over the moon. Spent 3.5 hours there."

"We visited Boneo Discovery Park on a weekend outing, hoping for a fun adventure, but my experience was a mixed bag. While some elements shone brightly, others left me underwhelmed, especially as an adult visitor without kids.
First off, the staff deserve a huge shoutout—they were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout my time there. Everyone was helpful and made me feel valued, which set a positive tone right from the start.
The standout highlight was the mini golf course—it was absolutely awesome! Challenging yet fun, with creative holes that kept me engaged for a good hour. The layouts were imaginative, and it felt well-maintained compared to other areas. If you're into mini golf, this alone is worth the trip.
Unfortunately, the rest of the park was a bit of a letdown. I was glad I didn't bring my kids along, as they would've been bored out of their minds on a non-holiday weekend. Key attractions like the Rock n Rope, Bungee Trampolines, and Carousel were completely shut down—they only operate during school holidays, not on regular weekends, which would have been frustrating and made large sections of the park feel inaccessible.
The games area had potential to be amazing, but it fell short because not all the equipment was available or functional. It seemed like things were half-set-up, diminishing the excitement. On a brighter note, the park itself is an incredible natural habitat for wildlife—I spotted birds, insects, and even some native animals in a serene, bushland setting that I couldn't fault. It's a peaceful spot for nature lovers.
The Dino area could use a cleanup; it felt neglected with overgrown paths and dusty exhibits. That said, the sculptures scattered around (including the Dinos) were pretty cool and added a quirky, artistic vibe.
All in all, this park seems tailored more for young children and primary school groups—think interactive learning and low-key play in a natural environment. For older kids, teens, or adults seeking thrills, it might not deliver outside of peak seasons. Would I go back? Only for the mini golf—it's that good! If you're planning a visit, check the schedule for attractions and consider going during holidays if you want the full experience. Overall rating: 3/5 stars. Great potential, but needs better consistency."

Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Young Children
Parents will appreciate the friendly staff and the availability of dairy-free ice cream at the cafe. While some adventure activities are seasonal, the core offerings like mini golf and the general park environment provide plenty of fun. It’s a great place for kids to burn energy in a safe and engaging setting.
Adults Seeking Thrills
Outside of school holidays, you might find that a significant portion of the 'adventure' elements are not operational. In such cases, the park's appeal for adults might lie more in its natural setting and the excellent mini golf. For a full thrill-seeking experience, it's essential to check the operating schedule and consider visiting during peak times.
Budget-Conscious Visitors
To maximize value, focus on the included activities like the mini golf, mazes, and dinosaur sculptures. Consider visiting during off-peak times when the atmosphere is more relaxed. If budget is a primary concern, research other nearby attractions that might offer a more inclusive package for the price.

Navigating Seasonal Attractions
For those seeking the full adventure experience, visiting during school holidays is recommended. However, be prepared for higher crowd levels during these times. If a more relaxed visit is preferred, weekdays outside of holidays offer a peaceful environment, but with fewer operational rides. The mini golf and dinosaur sculptures remain popular attractions regardless of the season.
Value for Money Considerations
It's important to weigh the cost against what you intend to do. If your focus is primarily on the mini golf, mazes, and dinosaur sculptures, the value might be perceived differently than if you were expecting all adventure activities to be operational and included. For families with very young children, the park offers a good amount of unstructured play and exploration, which can be highly valuable. However, for older children or adults seeking high-thrill activities, the value proposition might be weaker outside of peak seasons.
The Natural Habitat Aspect
While some reviews noted areas that could benefit from more upkeep, the park's commitment to preserving its natural habitat is a positive feature. It provides a contrast to the more active play areas and offers a chance for quiet reflection. For nature enthusiasts, this aspect alone can make a visit worthwhile, even if some of the adventure rides are not operational.
