It's a fantastic spot for birdwatching and enjoying serene camping experiences. Some caution is advised regarding the steepness and lack of barriers on the Mt. Pilot summit walk, especially for families with young children.
"This is an easy access national park. The falls can view from the parking lot. And the mountain pilot summit is an easy access even it’s a dirt road to the entrance. The view from the summit was gorgeous. From parking lot to the summit is a 300 m short walk trail."

"A great spot for birds.
Please be respectful of the birds here, there are quite a few coming here and getting carried away with their attempts to capture bird photos. It is much better to get them in their wild natural state snd if you miss out you miss out, its part of the adventure and charm of it!
I havent explored it all but a great spot for birds and with other excellent sites nearby. Chiltern, Rutherglen and even Wentworth are all excellent bases.
Come early in the morning as the sun is rising or near dusk to get the best chances of seeing bird activity. Be sure to bring a bit of insect repellent and water in the summer.
Drive slowly on the tracks so not to kick up and spread dust everywhere. Plenty of decent walks throughout"

"Pretty short but steepish walk to summit.
I dont recommend bringing kids (or silly teenagers like mine 😆), there are no barriers."
