Many appreciate the accessibility for a quick visit and the opportunity for short, enjoyable walks. Some note the limited amenities and the potential for monotonous stretches on longer hikes.
"It was open !! Road had been recently ploughed and the drive was super pretty. Lots of cross country skiers up there and snow shoes definitely needed to go walking."

"Beautiful place to visit anytime of the year, fairly easy walk to the top just be prepared with food drinks & appropriate clothes oh & comfortable shoes"
Fgasco 73
"This is actually a return walk either from Charlotte Pass - Guthega, or like what we did Guthega - Charlotte Pass. The walk is 18km, approx. 5 hours return. If you just want to do one way (9km, 3hr), make sure you organise a shuttle at the end of the walk. There’s no toilet or hiding places along the walk: toilets are only at Charlotte pass or guthega. The walk is moderate grade. Almost straight with minimum ascending. The views are worth the walk although can be monotonous and boring for 5 hours. Make sure to bring a wide brim hat, sunny and sunscreen. No shades along the way. There’s a parking nearby, check for the conditions. Also cafe at guthega. But none at charlotte pass."
