What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Caloundra Street Fair is a beloved Sunday tradition, praised for its vibrant atmosphere, diverse stalls offering handmade goods and delicious food, and live music. While some note a decrease in stall numbers over the years, recent improvements in shade and seating, along with its family and dog-friendly nature, make it a consistently enjoyable experience for locals and visitors alike.
"Been coming to these markets for the last 30 years when visiting on holidays. Not as many stalls these days and the layout is more difficult to negotiate. Even though the quantity and quality has dropped, there's still plenty to see and browse whilst enjoying the market atmosphere. With the amount of dogs being displayed by their owners it can be annoying to move around; but has also added to an increase in dog associated stalls! Plenty of food/drink stalls/vans, you won't go hungry.
Still a popular place to be on a Sunday morning, so come and check it out next time you're in Caloundra."

The market typically runs until around 12:30 PM or 1 PM, so vendors need to be ready for the morning rush and the subsequent winding down of the day. The fair is a popular spot for both locals and tourists, offering a consistent stream of potential customers each Sunday.

Many visitors highlight the food as a major drawcard, with a wide variety of nationalities represented in the culinary offerings. Whether you're an early bird looking for a breakfast bite or a later visitor seeking a satisfying meal, the food stalls ensure you won't go hungry. The fair has also seen an increase in dog-associated stalls, which can sometimes be a bit much for some, but the food options remain a consistent highlight.
Beyond the main meals, you can also find fresh produce and local delicacies, adding to the market's appeal. It's a great place to sample local flavors and discover new culinary experiences while enjoying the vibrant market atmosphere.
Navigating the Market
With over 120 stalls typically present, it's easy to get lost in the variety. The street is generally wide enough for shoppers to pass each other comfortably, but on busier days, it can feel a bit crowded, especially with the presence of many dogs and their owners. Arriving early, ideally between 8 AM and 10 AM, is the best strategy to avoid the peak crowds and enjoy a more relaxed browsing experience.
Parking can also be a consideration, with street parking being the primary option. Being prepared to walk a few blocks from your vehicle is often necessary, especially on busier Sundays. Despite these minor challenges, the overall market atmosphere, combined with live music and diverse offerings, makes it a worthwhile Sunday morning outing.
