What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors often praise the Cairns ZOOM & Wildlife Dome for its unique combination of wildlife encounters and thrilling adventure activities, particularly the zipline over the crocodile. The friendly and informative staff are frequently highlighted, making it a great family-friendly destination. However, some reviews note that the facility may be showing its age, and the koala hold experience is quite brief.
"After many years we have revisited the Wildlife Dome, one place you don’t want to miss when you visit Cairns!
Unfortunately I read in the local news that they are going to close this beautiful place 😢, what a loss for Cairns and the visiting tourists.
Yes it has become a bit outdated but where else in Australia can you see wildlife up close on the roof of a casino!?
The last time we visited, both my wife and I were ambulant, unfortunately my wife is now wheelchair bound which makes visiting a lot of place more difficult, despite all the wheelchair ramps etc - believe me I speak out of experience.
Upon arrival at the roof top, staff were quickly to assist us so we could enjoy our outing to the Dome. All staff we came across during our visit were so friendly and helpful, just fantastic and that despite the impending loss of this attraction.
If you can go and see this attraction before it’s too late and don’t forget youngsters will have a ball doing the Zoom activities."

"This was a great way to spend a few hours with the kids. We got them in time to do the tour with one of the staff members. Stephen was very informative and took the time to answer all of the kids questions.
We also took in the reptile show, which was very interesting for the kids. They got a chance to touch a snake and blue tongued Stink.
The kids for a chance to do all of the ropes courses, building walk and the rope drop. They very much enjoyed it.
We also did the Koala hold, which the kids enjoyed. But it was very short, about 30 seconds. Would have been nice to spend a little longer holding the animal."

"Super awesome place for people of all ages.
At 18 I absolutely loved it. From the wildlife park at the bottom, to the high ropes course that stretched over all the enclosures including a zip line over the croc was incredible.
Also had the chance to hold and get a photo with a koala , snake and turtle which is very nice"
