What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the beautiful, easy walks and stunning lookout points offering expansive coastal views. While some find the 'oceanview' name slightly misleading due to tree cover on parts of the track, the overall experience is highly enjoyable, especially during whale migration season. The paved paths make it accessible for most.
"Very beautiful location for an easy hike!
We saw some locals jumping into the water at the start of the track. You can spot whales during the winter season too.
Walking at a slow pace and stopping for lots of photos, it took us about 40 minutes one way.
Such a lovely walk!"
Ada Liu
"This is definitely one of the most beautiful tracks we have walked, it was easy and flat to walk and all along the ocean with concrete path, if only walking this track, it's only 1.2km one way, but it can be connected to another track which is a little more difficult to walk as it has a gentle slope and a bit longer, as it's the other side of the hill, no ocean view there, but it's a nice bush walk.
Very enjoyable walk indeed."

"Something of a hidden gem in the Gold Coast region. Happen to just see it when we were parked for another purpose.
Nice walking trail with some ascents and descents, though still easy for families with younger children."

In-depth insights and expert knowledge
Navigating the Trails: Oceanview vs. Bushland
For those seeking a bit more of a challenge or a different scenery, connecting trails lead into the heart of the headland's bushland. These paths can be a little steeper and longer, providing a more immersive nature experience. While they offer a peaceful escape, the ocean views are significantly more limited here, with dense trees dominating the landscape.
It's worth noting that despite the 'Oceanview' name, some sections of the main track can have their vistas partially obscured by foliage. The true sweeping panoramas are best enjoyed from the dedicated lookout points scattered throughout the park, which offer unobstructed views down the coastline.
Wildlife Encounters: Whales and More
Beyond the whales, the park's diverse habitats support a variety of birdlife and other native Australian animals. Keep an eye out for colourful parrots, kookaburras, and if you're quiet, you might even spot a wallaby or echidna in the denser bushland areas. The park's natural environment is well-preserved, offering a genuine taste of coastal Australian ecosystems.
