What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Bungan Beach's secluded charm and stunning natural beauty, often calling it a 'little gem.' The challenging but rewarding access keeps crowds low, making it feel private. While it's an epic surf spot, swimmers are cautioned to stay within the flags due to strong currents. The unique Bungan Castle adds a touch of historical intrigue.
"Worth the super steep trek down to this gorgeous little beach. You feel quite secluded. We only saw a handful of locals, including the surf life savers. They packed up around 4pm though. We only swam in the flags, I wouldn’t swim outside of them even as a strong swimmer. There were rips and big swells where the surfers were. Epic surfing spot. We lied on the beach and watched them, some really good surfers come here. Rockpools we’re nice to explore. There is a toilet you can use in the Surf Life Saving building, and a shower outside. The houses in this area overlooking the ocean were worth the trip itself - wow!!"

"This is a great little quiet beach.
What might draw it back is that it isn’t really the best spot for those who want to surf in comparison to other beaches in the area, and can become a difficult place to stay when it is very windy.
Though if you appreciate a quieter beach spot then this is a good place."

"How great is this beautiful beach. Wow! We haven't been there in years. Walk down the steep driveway and it just appears, awesome place, no one there on Friday and an outstanding day. Bungan Beach you are a little gem."
