"Ballast Point Park is an award-winning, 2.6 ha recreational area in Birchgrove on the Balmain Peninsula, with scenic Harbour and city skyline views to take in.
This waterfront park was once a thriving industrial site, and its current design has preserved much of the area’s industrial past. One of the park's most interesting features is the way the site's history has been brought to life for visitors through design, art and poetry, including:
Tank 101: a structure to symbolise the site's working harbour history
Delicate Balance: an artwork that represents the use of sandstone from the site as ballast for European ships well worth a visit."

"A really great park for a visit, with a water side walk round to Mort Park. There is so much history to ballast point itself, and it has been wonderfully converted to a series of spaces to walk or hang out in. There is artworks as well. Parking was easy, there are toilets and picnic areas.
The walk around to Mort Park has lots of fascinating places to explore. I highly recommend this as a destination for a casual easy outing."
