What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Golden Grove Estate for its exceptional wines, particularly the Durif and Vermentino, and its stunning vineyard scenery. The friendly, family-run atmosphere and welcoming staff create a memorable experience, with many highlighting the delicious grazing platters and dog-friendly policy. Some minor points of feedback include the desire for more extensive food options beyond platters and occasional busy periods during peak times.
"Came to this stunning winery on a Tuesday lunchtime for an absolutely delicious grazing platter. The food was so tasty that we all said it made such a special memory and something we would talk about for a long time. Sat on the picnic benches looking at the gorgeous landscape. Staff member who served us was very friendly and we bought some of their house wines they had on offer. Also loved that it was dog friendly and our dog sat at the picnic benches with us."

"An absolutely amazing experience. We went for an afternoon wine tasting and the scenery and wine were both amazing. We had the most fantastic server named Joel. He shared his passion for wine making and made us all feel comfortable and welcome. We all chose this experience as our highlight of our trip, we will definitely be coming back and requesting Joel as our wine server!"

"We had a fantastic wine tasting; the two of us going through a shared tasting of six wines from their current list. All of them were first rate (88-92 on my 100-point scale), with the Shiraz/Durif blend and Durif (Petite Sirah in the US) really standing out. After a large group left, we had a great conversation with Grace and Sam; very friendly and welcoming folks. We liked the wines so much, we went back the day we left Ballandean and bought a few more bottles! Tasting costs $10, but waived on wine purchase. Really reminded me of small California wineries that my father used to go to when I was young (1970-80s); family run wineries where one tastes and decides whether or not to buy their product, rather than being mostly a "tourism enterprise"."
