This isn't just a museum; it's an immersive journey into WA's convict past that you can feel in the air. The Albany Convict Gaol is an absolute must-do for history buffs and ghost hunters alike!
Walking through the solitary confinement cells and the old gallows area, you can't help but feel a palpable presence. The history here is raw and powerful, and if you're open to it, you might just pick up on a ghost or two. The atmosphere is incredibly thick and haunting.
We went for the educational value and left completely captivated by the stories both past and perhaps... present. The staff shared some chilling anecdotes that made the experience even more real. A truly unforgettable visit that connects you to the deep, and sometimes restless, past of Albany's early settlers."

"The Albany Convict Gaol Museum gives you a good insight into the tough conditions of the early settlers when they first came to Albany. The building is well preserved and furnished with a lot of furniture from the period with some creepy full size figures to surprise you on your way round the museum and there is plenty to read. The museum is all on one level easy to get around however, wheelchair access may be tricky as some of the doors are thin due to the period they were constructed in. There is some parking outside with a couple of picnic benches for a munch and a cup of tea afterwards. A family ticket was about $15 from memory."
