What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Jamanota Hill for its spectacular panoramic views and its role in showcasing Aruba's rugged natural beauty within Arikok National Park. However, some note that vehicle access can be restricted, requiring a steep and challenging hike, and caution is advised due to cacti and horse waste.
"I insist on saying first that I did not reach the summit of the hill. The reason I am writing a review on this is that you are attempting to go here, you will have to make it on foot as of now. From my entrance there is a barrier blocking the road to vehicles. In fact we saw several vehicles approach the gate and turn away.
The hill is very steep, and the sun is unforgiving. By the time I went up my fifth steep section I was worn out, and I was only half way up to the hill. Also I had little time, I had to be somewhere else in a hour. It is my estimate that it will take at least two hours to walk up that hill, breaks included.
What really bugged me on my way down was my shoes were pierced with two cactus spines.
Area was extremely quiet. Also besides looking for cacti, there is a LOT of horse waste strewn about.
Plan to spend at least four hours here, be prepare to do some steep hiking, and stay to the roads. Cacti are everywhere."
