Reviews Summary
Erebuni Fortress is a historically significant site offering a glimpse into ancient Urartian civilization, with a fascinating museum and impressive views of Yerevan. While the ruins are extensive, much of the original upper structures are gone, and some visitors note concerns about preservation and modern rehabilitation. The museum, though small, contains valuable artifacts, and the panoramic vistas are a definite highlight.
"One of the most underrated places to visit in Yerevan! It’s truly fascinating, you can walk among the ruins of different fortress structures ranging from temples to servant rooms, and all that built more than 2800 years ago! There’s also a museum, unfortunately most of it was closed for construction, but we managed to have a small tour of some exhibits with Ms. Rosa, a very sweet and nice lady who told us lots and lots of interesting facts, we truly enjoyed it. Also there’s a beautiful view of Ararat from the top of the hill."

"The museum is small, but interesting. After the museum I did go to the fortress. Nice view to round the town.
Interesting place. The fortress shold be in every sightseeing program.
The bus number 97 did bring me to this place."

"I was there in 2019 and nothing has changed since then which is very disappointing. The museum on the open air is managed very purely. You can see that the walls of the precious old city are scratched by vandals, thousands of names dated even in recent years. And the security guys instead of doing their job of guarding the museum just offer you excursions when you enter it. No funds at all are spent on this wonderful piece of ancient architecture."
