Yesterday our Lourdes pilgrims celebrated Mass in the Grotto, the very place where our Lady appeared to St Bernadette, alongside our brothers and sisters from the Diocese of Arundel & Brighton.

Reviews Summary

Visitors often praise the Grotto of Lourdes for its profound spiritual energy and peaceful atmosphere, especially once inside the sanctuary. The replica itself is considered beautiful and moving. However, some reviewers note issues with persistent vendors outside the entrance and a need for better maintenance and clearer chapel hours.

"Wonderfully spiritual place except for the guys that shake you down for money to watch your car in the street and the two old ladies that sit at either side of the entrance like crows bullying you into buying their holy water and trinkets. If you can somehow run the gauntlet through these people once you’re inside you can really feel the energy shift. It’s really an amazing energy once inside like most spiritual places. Once you rub some holy water on your face from the spring, start feeling wonderful and get all zen don’t forget you have to run the gauntlet again through the old crows who guilt trip you if you don’t buy their junk and once again face the guys you just paid 500 pesos to “watch your car” for 20 minutes."
