What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Macuco Trail and Safari offer a dual experience: thrilling adventure with the boat ride and peaceful nature exploration on the trail. While the boat ride is a highlight for many, some find the trail less spectacular than other park attractions, though wildlife sightings are a major draw. Crowds can be managed by visiting during weekdays.
"This trail was much more peaceful and I loved seeing the monkeys. I didn't plan to do this trail but we managed to get round all the other ones by 11.30am and I'm so glad we did this one as otherwise we'd have missed the monkeys."
Chloe Sharp
"It is an easy 7km out amd back walk. We did the walk in Birkenstocks and it was fine. The walk to the waterfall is about one hour and mostly flat. You’ll come to a lookout at the end of it and then you can descend to the waterfall. The waterfall itself is not that spectacular (especially after all the other waterfalls) but the walk through the jungle was nice and we saw many animals such as a snake, butterflies, agutis, a sort of deer, monkeys, and a wild guinea pig."
Cheyenne Blatter
"An easy 7km return walk along a clear, wide path in the forest to a waterfall lookout. A viewpoint above the Arrechea falls and a further short walk down stairs to the pool at the bottom of the falls. Many insects and a few water-monitor lizards were seen."
