What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Termas de Cacheuta offers a picturesque thermal spa experience with beautiful mountain views and a decent buffet lunch. While the thermal pools and natural setting are highlights, some visitors have encountered issues with spa service availability, limited towel provision, and mixed opinions on food quality. The hotel aspect has also received negative feedback regarding service and room conditions.
"We only went to the Spa for the day, but it was fantastic.
The location is amazing and so picturesque, and the staff took really good care of us.
The Spa is excellent with plenty of space so it doesn't feel too cramped.
The buffet lunch was excellent and the whole experience was good value for money."

"Amazing experience at the spa. We got a “connect to your body” experience of sort which was very nice and relaxing. The place merits a lot and the food was amazing too. I wasn’t particularly excited about the Asado when I saw the variety of salads and greens that they had. Amazing experience. Don’t go very early as it can be pretty chilly until the sun comes up"

"It's a beautiful location, but it goes downhill from there. They might as well remove the spa from the name. Unless you are staying there, don't plan on anything.
Massages... You can't make reservations for a massage ahead of time. We showed up right when they opened at 10, and all but one 1/2 hour of massage was booked. Yep, they only book a 1/2 hour massages. They only had 2 masseuses working. And no other spa services. No facials, pedicures, couples massages, nothing.
They will ONLY provide you with 2 towels: one before lunch and one after lunch. This means you get to go to lunch with a wet towel.
Lunch was very disappointing and close to not worth eating. All the meats were way overcooked, and the buffet was disjointed.
For the most part, there are no other beverage options besides wine and beer. These are only available for purchase in the restaurant, and there is no beverage service anywhere else on the property.
The "thermal* smelled more of chlorine than normal thermal water."

For Different Travelers
Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
If you are traveling with a family that includes younger children, it might be best to consider alternative activities in Mendoza that are more family-friendly. For families with teens aged 14+, a full-day pass to the thermal pools could still be a relaxing option, but be aware that the focus is on a tranquil spa environment rather than a playful water park atmosphere.
💰 Budget Travelers
However, be mindful of potential extra expenses. Drinks are not included with lunch and must be purchased separately. Also, consider the cost of renting a robe if needed. While the spa experience itself is the main draw, researching current package prices and what's included is key to staying within budget.
couples
While couples' massages might not always be available or easy to book, the general spa experience, including the thermal pools and optional fangotherapy, can be a wonderful way to spend quality time together. Consider booking a full-day package to fully immerse yourselves in the tranquil atmosphere. :couplewithheart: :sparkling_heart:

The Thermal Experience
Beyond the pools, the spa offers additional thermal therapies. The fangotherapy, utilizing mineral-rich mud, is a popular treatment for skin rejuvenation. Visitors can also experience the gruta termal, a natural grotto that functions as a dry sauna, providing a different kind of thermal relaxation. These unique offerings contribute to the overall wellness aspect of a visit.
However, some guests have noted that the thermal water can sometimes smell more of chlorine than expected for natural springs. This is something to be aware of, though many still find the overall thermal experience to be highly enjoyable and beneficial.
Full Day vs. Hotel Stay
For those seeking a more immersive experience, the hotel provides accommodation. However, reviews for the hotel itself are mixed, with some guests reporting issues with service, room conditions, and overall hospitality. If you're considering a stay, it might be wise to research recent hotel reviews separately from the spa day experience.
It's important to note that some spa services, like massages, may have limited availability and require booking upon arrival, even for hotel guests. This can be a point of frustration for those who don't plan ahead.
Navigating the Spa Services
When it comes to specific treatments like massages, it's crucial to manage expectations. Several reviews highlight that reservations for massages can be difficult to secure. They often book up quickly, and sometimes only shorter 30-minute slots are available, with limited masseuses working. It's recommended to inquire about booking options as soon as you arrive or even try to book in advance if possible.
Beyond massages, other spa services like facials or couples' massages may not be consistently available. The provision of towels is also a point of note; guests typically receive only two towels per person for the entire day, meaning you might have a wet towel for lunch.
