What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently describe Laguna Brava Reserve as an 'unbelievable' and 'amazing' place with a unique, enigmatic landscape. The stunning blue saline lake and the opportunity to see wildlife like vicuñas and flamingos are major highlights. However, the extreme wind and high altitude can be challenging, and some travelers found the mandatory guide requirement to be a scam.
"Unbelievable. It's over 4400 meters in elevation according to my GPS. It'll take all day to go up and then back down in a 4x4 but it is well worth it, and you will pass through many towns along the way and interacting with the locals. It's extremely windy so you'll likely stay for only a few minutes, at least if you go in late May which is when I was here. It's probably best to go during the warmer months. But I've never seen anything like it before."
