Reviews Summary

Visitors find the Tropic of Capricorn Monument a significant geographical marker and a worthwhile quick stop on road trips. While the monument itself is simple, the surrounding artisanal stalls offer unique local crafts. Some note the area could be better maintained, but it remains a popular photo opportunity and a chance to appreciate the region's culture.

"Self drive or a tour from Salta to get here.
The area around could be cleaned and better presented."

"A place worth going to basically just to be able to say "I've been there" every time you hear or see a mention of the Tropic of Capricorn. Apart from that, there is little to see. The "monument" on the Tropic line is vaguely shaped like a sundial, but there is no other mark on the circular platform to indicate time. It is pretty isolated and around it you can still see farmers plowing their fields with horse drawn plows. There is a series of stalls along the road with nice artisanal products (mostly pottery) and basically no indication or sign to follow, so it is rather easy to miss if you are not specifically looking for it. Still, worth a stop if you are on the road, but not a destination in itself."

"Interesting, quick stop along the highway to stand on the Tropic of Capricorn and see the vendors selling pottery and other souvenirs."
