"A beautiful place to visit in a group, it is highly recommended to go with someone who knows since depending on the place where each one goes it is easy to get lost, it is a half hidden waterfall but a spectacle when you get there, it has a good depth for swimming and even to jump from above, highly recommended to go"

"Depending on the season, getting there is easy by car. The best option is by van ✨. I took a trail uphill and arrived above the waterfall; it's closer. And along the way, we discovered many beautiful places to take a dip. I don't recommend diving off the waterfall... many people do, but it's dangerous, and fatal accidents have already occurred. It's better to enjoy nature, be in good company, and leave no trash behind. Let's take care of our little ones."

"A very nice place. I come back every chance I get.
I'd like to ask that when you go, please don't leave your trash there. If you see someone and can pick up trash left by someone who's not a good fit, I'd appreciate it. This way, we can maintain a clean and pleasant environment."

Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
Once at the falls, the natural pools offer a fun place for kids to splash around. However, supervision is paramount, especially near the water. Avoid the main waterfall area for swimming with children due to depth and potential currents. Packing plenty of snacks, water, and child-friendly insect repellent is essential for a comfortable family outing. Remember to bring a bag for all trash to teach children about respecting nature.
🚶♀️ Adventure Seekers & Hikers
Be prepared for varied terrain and consider going off the beaten path (with caution and local knowledge) to discover smaller, hidden pools perfect for a secluded dip. The key is to be well-prepared with sturdy hiking boots, ample water, and a sense of exploration. Remember that while adventure is encouraged, safety and environmental responsibility are paramount.

Navigating the Trails
Consider the season when planning your trek. During the dry season, the trails are generally more accessible and easier to follow. However, regardless of the time of year, sturdy footwear is non-negotiable. The terrain can be uneven, with rocks and roots posing potential hazards. Bringing insect repellent is also a wise precaution, as the lush environment is home to various insects. Remember to stay hydrated and carry enough water for your excursion.
Responsible Tourism and Conservation
Beyond waste management, visitors are urged to practice safe enjoyment. While the waterfall offers a tempting spot for a swim, the practice of diving from the top has been flagged as extremely dangerous, with tragic accidents having occurred. The consensus is to appreciate the natural beauty and refreshing waters responsibly, prioritizing safety over risky stunts. By adhering to these principles, visitors can ensure that Cascadas de Las Escaleras remains a beautiful and safe destination for generations to come.
