What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors generally praise Termas de Cacheuta for its beautiful mountain setting and the variety of thermal pools with different temperatures. The spa experience, especially the full-day packages, is highlighted for relaxation. However, some find it can get very crowded on weekends and holidays, impacting the overall enjoyment.
"We really enjoyed our day here! We booked the day pass and it was amazing to relax here.
We went on July on a Tuesday but some locals told us that if you go on a long weekend or a holiday it gets too full and not enjoyable. Not out experience at all but just something important to consider."
Julieta Ayala
"Really enjoyed our time here, we were pleasantly surprised at how scenic the spa is nestled amongst the mountains. Each pool had different temperatures ranging from extremely hot to ice cold. Changing rooms are simple but clean. Bring your own soap if you want a shower. Bring your own towels if you don’t want to pay for a robe. Lockers are 4000 pesos but you get 2000 back on returning the key. Bring water / food there are benches where you can have your own lunch and it is very peaceful. Nearby shops / restaurants are expensive. We got the bus from Mendoza terminal to cachueta, bought our tickets from the Andesmar ticket counter on the same day. Just make sure you book a return ticket as you cannot pay cash on the bus. We also did not purchase spa tickets in advance we also did this on arrival in cash and it was no issue."

"Beautiful and well maintained. Family friendly but also a great place to spend the day with friends. They have lockers that are 3000 pesos and the bathrooms are large with changing rooms. We had a great time going to different temperature pools. They even have an adults only pool."

Choosing Your Cacheuta Experience: Park vs. Hotel Spa
On the other hand, the Hotel & Spa is geared towards adults (14+) and offers a more exclusive and tranquil retreat. A 'Spa Full Day' package here typically includes access to saunas, hydro-massage, pools, and a buffet lunch, providing a comprehensive relaxation experience. This option is ideal for those seeking a quieter, more pampered day.
When planning, consider your group's preferences and desired atmosphere. If you're traveling with younger children or prefer a more bustling environment, the park might be suitable. For a serene escape, the hotel spa is the way to go.
Budgeting Your Visit to Termas de Cacheuta
To further save money, pack your own snacks and water, as on-site food and drinks can be more expensive. Bringing your own towel also avoids rental charges. Lockers are available for a small fee, with a partial refund upon returning the key. Visiting during weekdays is generally cheaper and less crowded than weekends.
For a more luxurious experience, the Hotel Spa Full Day packages, while pricier, often include a buffet lunch and access to premium facilities like saunas and hydro-massage, offering a complete relaxation day. This allows visitors to tailor their experience to their budget and desired level of indulgence.
Maximizing Relaxation: Tips for Your Spa Day
Beyond the pools, consider the additional amenities. If you've opted for a spa package, take advantage of the saunas and hydro-massage for ultimate rejuvenation. For a unique sensory experience, venture out to the natural creek nearby and dip your feet in its cool waters – a refreshing contrast to the thermal pools.
Remember to stay hydrated, especially if you're spending a full day. Many packages include access to water dispensers. And for an even more serene experience, seek out the adults-only pool if available. Ultimately, the key is to disconnect, breathe in the mountain air, and let the thermal waters work their magic.
