Reviews Summary

Peru Beach is a popular recreational waterfront spot with a great skate park and water sports facilities. Visitors enjoy the lively atmosphere, scenic river views, and dining options at Toi en Peru. However, some find the food overpriced and note that it's not a traditional swimming beach.

"Went with my daughter for lunch. After waiting about ten minutes, I asked a lady serving drinks if we could order, she said she’d tell the waitress. Ten minutes later we still hadn’t ordered. The table next to us asked if they could order and she took their order. Having twenty minutes to look over the limited menu; it’s overpriced and a lot of their food is fried. The ambience is okay but the actual restaurant area felt like it was from a 1970’s boardwalk. Ten minutes later we’re sitting at another restaurant close by, we’ve already ordered our food, and the atmosphere is way better. It’s less expensive as well and a much more expansive menu."

Kent Blakeney

"This place has everything, you can enjoy it with your partner, family or friends, the kids loved it, you have many activities to do from skating to water activities or just have a great drink, listen some music and relax. You should definitely pay this place a visit."

Sofia De Winne

"I love this place! You can go kitesurfing, windsurfing, kayaking! They rent sports material. Food is good. Amazing ocean views. Full of nice people."

Understanding the 'Beach' Aspect

It's important to note that 'Peru Beach' is a bit of a misnomer for those expecting a traditional sandy beach for swimming. The location is situated on the waterfront of the Río de la Plata, a large river estuary. While it offers beautiful water views and a place to relax by the water's edge, the water itself is not typically used for swimming and can sometimes appear murky or carry an odor. Reddit

Instead of swimming, visitors come for the recreational activities like skating and water sports, and the dining experiences with a view. The 'beach' aspect refers more to the open, waterside setting rather than a sandy shoreline for sunbathing and swimming. InstagramReddit
