"Shri Martand Sun Temple Mattan Anantnag is beautifully built temple of Sun God. Shrines for Lord Shiva Parvathi Ganesh Vishnu Krishna Hanuman are around. All shrines are well maintained. A big square temple tank before the temple. Devotees feed the fish and pigeon. Lot of fish in the tank. A Gurudwara also along the other side of the Temple. The grand and majestic ancient Sun Temple which was built during 8th century by the King Lalit Aditya Muktapida is around 3.5 km away from the present Sun Temple. The ancient grand Temple was destroyed by Sikandar Shah Miri during 15th century."
