What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Delvinë Castle is lauded for its absolutely stunning, unforgettable panoramic views, particularly at sunset, making it a must-visit for the scenery. While the historic ruins add charm, the primary draw is the vista. However, visitors should be aware that food and drink prices are significantly higher than in town, and some note the grounds could be cleaner.
"The property may have once been a castle, but it’s now just a restaurant with great views!
Food and drink prices are definitely higher than in the town, but that’s to be expected.
The place probably hums in summer, but it felt a bit forlorn while we were there. The area could also do with a clean-up, with lots of trash and cigarette butts on the ground around the property."

"Perched atop the hills overlooking Saranda, Lekursi Castle offered one of the most spectacular views I’ve ever experienced. From up there, I could see the sparkling Ionian Sea, the city below, and the surrounding islands, all creating a breathtaking panorama that felt almost magical.
Exploring the castle ruins, I was fascinated by the history and the stories these walls must hold. The on-site café made it easy to relax while taking in the scenery, adding to the charm of the visit. Lekursi Castle wasn’t just a historic site—it was a stunning viewpoint and a truly unforgettable highlight of my trip."

"Beautiful views from the lower balconies – definitely the highlight of this place. The restaurant itself is not halal and the food is overpriced, but you’re really paying for the location and scenery. I’d recommend arriving at least 1 hour before sunset (2 hours if you want the best seats) to secure a good spot. Drinks are also on the expensive side. We had a margarita pizza and a few drinks before heading elsewhere for dinner. Overall, the views are absolutely amazing and worth experiencing at least once- but save yourself for dinner elsewhere."

For Different Travelers
Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
Arriving a couple of hours before sunset allows kids to explore the open areas safely and enjoy the changing light. The open space can be great for them to move around, but always supervise them closely, especially near any edges. A taxi ride up can be an adventure in itself for younger ones.

The Castle Experience: More Than Just Ruins
The experience here is less about extensive historical exploration and more about enjoying the ambiance and the unparalleled vistas. The on-site eatery provides a comfortable place to relax, dine, or simply enjoy a drink while taking in the scenery. However, it's important to note that the food and drink prices are higher than in the town below, a common trade-off for such a spectacular location.
Some visitors have noted that the area around the property could benefit from a clean-up, with occasional litter detracting from the natural beauty. Despite this, the breathtaking panorama remains the undeniable highlight, drawing many to experience its magic at least once during their visit to the region.
Capturing the Perfect Shot: Photography at Delvinë Castle
The lower balconies and upper ramparts offer the most iconic vantage points. From here, you can capture sweeping panoramas that encompass the sparkling sea, the terracotta roofs of Saranda, and the silhouettes of nearby islands. Don't forget to also turn your lens towards the castle ruins themselves; their weathered stone and imposing towers provide a dramatic historical contrast to the natural beauty.
While the views are the main draw, consider the time of day for different photographic opportunities. Midday sun can be harsh, but it offers clear, bright shots of the landscape. Early morning light can also be beautiful, offering a softer glow before the day's heat sets in. Remember to be mindful of other visitors and restaurant patrons when composing your shots.
