What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Santa Quaranta Beach offers a unique setting with clear waters and lively beach clubs, but visitors should be prepared for a pebble beach, potential crowds, and costs for sunbeds. Some find the music loud and the experience less welcoming than anticipated, while others praise the beautiful scenery and cocktails.
"Cute little pebble beach, easy enough to access by walking down the stairs from the Dorchester and then right through two car parks until you get to the gate on the left that takes you down.to the beach. Be careful on the way down as there is glass about and plenty of trip hazards. The beach itself is small, I don't recommend it for kids except the first portion but that can get crowded. Best to wear swim shoes as it gets slippery."

"We went there with recommendations from local people and found a very beautiful resort with hotel and restaurants. But problem was beach covered with pebbles, a lot of people, destroyed sunbeds (for 2 sunbeds price was 1500 lekë). Small beach, and a huge rocks in the water. Don’t recommend going there."

"It cost 1500leks for 2 chairs. There is one fast food restaurant beside it. It's a beach open for public"

In-depth insights and expert knowledge
Navigating Santa Quaranta Beach: Access and Comfort
Sunbed rentals are a common amenity, but be prepared for the cost, which has been reported to be around 1500 Lek for two, with some areas charging significantly more. Because the beach is relatively small, it tends to get crowded, particularly the front sections. This can impact the overall experience, making it feel less spacious and potentially less enjoyable for those seeking a quiet escape.
While the beach offers a unique setting, the combination of pebble terrain, potential hazards, and the need for specific footwear means visitors should come prepared for a different kind of beach experience than a sandy shore.
The Vibe: Beach Clubs and Entertainment
Service at the beach bars is generally praised, with friendly staff and excellent cocktails being highlights for many. However, some visitors have encountered less welcoming experiences, with confusion over seating arrangements and unexpected charges. It's worth noting that while the beach is open to the public, the associated hotel and beach clubs dictate much of the onsite experience and amenities.
For those seeking a more relaxed setting, arriving earlier in the day or on a weekday might offer a calmer experience before the evening entertainment kicks in. The combination of clear waters and a lively social scene makes Santa Quaranta a popular spot for those wanting to combine sunbathing with a bit of fun.
