What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the epic views and wild, untouched nature of Nivica Canyon, often calling it a top European canyon. While the trails can be challenging and unmarked, the stunning scenery and relative lack of crowds make it a highly rewarding experience for adventurous hikers.
"Epic views! Definitely recommend. Not for faint hearted! Pretty hard trail, some experience needed. Not many people and wild nature. We saw only 2 groups with guide. In the spring you might get shoes wet when crossing rivers. Summer to Winter no problem at all... dry riverbed. But waterfall still there. We recommend using Strava heatmap or Wikilok app to follow trail, no marking at all.
You can do 2 km- 2 hour there and back trail or 7-9 km loop 3,5-4,5 hours. I recommend longer loop if you have time... The views are worth it! I name it in TOP3 of Europe canyons. Recommend from Estonia."

"The nature is wonderful. It seems dangerous when you see from above but it is not. We have hiked with kids of 11 and 8 years old and it was doable. We enjoyed the fresh air and the smell of medicinal herbs around, mainly mint, oregano and thyme.Worthy to visit, but it might be challenging the turning back climbing if there is a sunny day as there is no shadowed place."
