"Very authentic and peaceful"

"It was built by Nasuh's son Murad Bey (940/1533-34) in Akçahisar/Kruja/Kruya, 200 meters outside the castle and in the middle of the old bazaar. After the town became a center of anti-Ottoman movements in the 19th century, the town was severely damaged by Reşid Pasha's attack on behalf of the Ottomans during the Great Albanian Revolt of 1831. During this period, the Mehmed II (Fatih) Mosque and the Murad Bey Mosque were destroyed. According to existing inscriptions, both of these were rebuilt in 1253 (1837-38). It was most recently restored by TIKA in 2014 and is in a well-maintained condition. It has a toilet and ablution facilities for men and women. The entrance is from the bazaar."
