What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Gjipe Beach is a stunning natural gem, praised for its pristine white sands, crystal-clear waters, and the dramatic Gjipe Canyon. Visitors love the adventurous hike to reach it and the secluded, beautiful environment. However, some find the hike challenging, parking and sunbed rentals can be pricey, and occasional issues with litter detract from the experience for a few.
"Little bit difficult to reach this beach via narrow path from main road - about 30-40 min walking. The entrance to the Gjipe canyon directly from the beach trough the "camp" place.
The nice walk into canyon untill the first more difficult big stone obstacle cca 600 (800)m from the beach - unfortunately with the broken climber rope = finish = no way to proceed."

"Cons: mandatory paid parking (400lek) , and the campsite and few businesses around the area have massive amounts of trash at the bottom of the bay ( it does seem like they’re slowly working on taking it out after tourism season) , and it got pretty crowded as of October 20th by late morning/ early afternoon. Pretty low dangling electric line as well dropped across the whole beach
Pros: it’s a nice beach, with nice rocks/ canyon behind it"
Just a chill guy
"Did a early (8am) Sunday morning hike to the beach, very quiet, water was amazing. Lots of campers (some waking up hungover). There are two bars, sun bed/chair rental and water activity toy rentals."

The Journey to Gjipe Beach
While the hike can be demanding, the reward is a secluded paradise. Some visitors have reported receiving lifts from locals in jeeps, especially for the uphill return, but this is not a guaranteed service. Planning your arrival for earlier in the day can help avoid the midday heat and potentially reduce the number of people on the trail and at the beach.
Exploring the Gjipe Canyon
It's important to be prepared for this exploration. Wear appropriate footwear, carry water, and be aware of your surroundings. While the canyon is a major draw, some travelers have noted that certain parts can be impassable due to obstacles. Nevertheless, the opportunity to combine a beach day with a canyon hike makes Gjipe a distinctive destination for those seeking a bit more adventure.
Beach Amenities and Environment
However, it's worth noting that some visitors have observed issues with trash accumulation, particularly around the campsite area, especially after the peak tourist season. While efforts are sometimes made to clean up, it's a point of concern for some. Additionally, a low-hanging electric line has been mentioned as a potential hazard. Despite these environmental concerns, the natural beauty of the beach and canyon continues to attract visitors.
